2nd Annual Rio Rancho Thunder Motorcycle Rally September 12-14, 2008
Rio Rancho Thunder Motorcycle Rally 2007 was a great success. Over 10000 motorcycle enthusiasts attended the event but well over 100,000 people heard about the newest rally to hit New Mexico. After the 07 rally success, we’re looking forward to an even greater event in 2008.
This year, the motto is “More Noise, More Toys”. For riders, this means checking out the latest 09 motorcycles, motorcycle games, a ride through the Petroglyph National Park, motorcycle obstacle courses, motorcycle stunt riders, custom bike competitions, bike accessory vendors, custom painters and pinstripers, motorcycle trailers, pins and patches, toy-haulers (at GREAT prices), LED installers, a “poker” run and more. For visitors, it means more and diverse vendors including jewelry, ceramics, leather, artwork, sunglasses, boots and shoes, shirts and sweats, metalwork, and glasswork, fashion shows, kids activities, more giveaways - more of everything. For everyone, it means great entertainment, sheltered picnic area, great food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), FREE ADMISSION, local merchant discount coupons, and more. Be sure to get your photo taken atop the world’s largest, ridable motorcycle. And wine, beer, and liquor will be available in accordance with NM law.
In addition to Noise and Toys, lots of attention also went into a new location for 08. The 2008 Rally site is larger, friendlier, and easier to find – just take exit 149 off I-40 to Camping World RV Sales, 14303 Central Ave NW in Albuquerque, NM and you’re there. Stay at the new Route 66 Casino Hotel (3 miles away) and ask for the special Motorcycle Rally rate. For you RV or tent enthusiasts, stay next door to the Rally at the Enchanted Trails RV Park and get 20% off the daily rate.
Check out the rest of this site for more Rio Rancho Thunder Motorcycle Rally 2008 information including maps, photos from 07, schedules, vendor and exhibitor applications, links, and whatever else I thought would be of interest.
